An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support in educational settings. This role involves working within schools to facilitate effective interaction between hearing-impaired students, their peers, and educators. The position involves travel to Salem, VA, allowing for diverse and engaging professional experiences across multiple school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction and school activities.
- Facilitate clear communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and other school personnel.
- Collaborate with educational teams to support student learning and participation.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics related to interpreting services.
