Job Description

This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work onsite in a collaborative and supportive educational environment. You'll facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff, helping to ensure every child has equitable access to learning and social experiences.

Requirements for this role:

  • Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • EIPA score of 3.0 or above
  • Experience interpreting for elementary-aged children preferred
  • Ability to work onsite, adhering to school hours from 7:45am to 3:15pm
  • Professional, adaptable, and team-oriented attitude
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in education

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct sign language interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students throughout the school day
  • Collaborating with educators and support staff to foster inclusive educational approaches
  • Assisting in classroom activities, assemblies, and special events as needed
  • Supporting students' social and academic development by ensuring clear communication in all settings
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation and complying with all district guidelines
