Job Description

Make a significant impact as a Sign Language Interpreter, supporting students in a dynamic educational setting. A dedicated interpreter is needed to assist a high school student in an adaptive classroom environment throughout the school year. This is a full-time, onsite contract position, working 37.5 hours per week from August 3, 2026, to May 21, 2027. Your expertise will help provide comprehensive communication services, ensuring the students full participation in classroom activities and fostering a supportive atmosphere for learning and growth.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language.
  • Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
  • Experience within educational settings, preferably with students requiring adaptive classroom support.
  • Compassionate understanding for students with physical and communication needs.
  • Ability to work onsite as required by the students family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct interpreting services for a high school student in a wheelchair within an adaptive classroom setting.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the student, classroom staff, and peers to support academic and social integration.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to support the students unique learning and physical needs.
  • Collaborate with educators and specialists to foster an inclusive educational experience.
