Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken and written communication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL) to ensure clear and effective communication

  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
  • Travel to assigned schools within the region as required for assignment coverage

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of deaf culture and educational interpreting standards
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to multiple school locations
