A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support educational programs in schools located in Rexburg, ID. This travel assignment offers the chance to apply your expertise in a dynamic learning environment, facilitating communication and inclusion for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken and written communication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL) to ensure clear and effective communication
- Assist in classroom settings, extracurricular activities, and school events to provide equal access to educational content
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions
- Travel to assigned schools within the region as required for assignment coverage
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings highly desirable
- Strong understanding of deaf culture and educational interpreting standards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to multiple school locations
