Step into a rewarding opportunity providing essential support as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting near Renton, WA. Youll be working closely with a single student who has specific behavioral needs, offering dedicated 1:1 assistance to ensure they can fully participate in their learning environment.

This position begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of the school year, with full-time hours (37.5 per week). Youll play a pivotal role in fostering communication, inclusion, and advocacy for your assigned student.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools highly preferred
• Must hold a current RBT Certification
• Experience with students exhibiting behavioral challenges is a plus
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate interpreting between the student, staff, and peers
• Support the students academic and social inclusion within the classroom
• Adapt interpreting techniques and approaches based on day-to-day needs and behaviors
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, and school professionals to foster a positive learning environment
• Maintain confidentiality while adhering to all professional guidelines and school policies
