Make a lasting difference by supporting students and educators as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school-based setting! This contract opportunity runs from September 2nd through June 17th, providing a consistent 32.5-hour workweek. You'll be assigned to just one school in the Renton area, giving you the chance to build meaningful relationships and become an integral part of the school community. Most of the caseload will involve working with K-12 students, and theres flexibility to accommodate your preferred age group.
As a valued specialist, youll facilitate clear and accurate communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students, their peers, and educational staff. Your skills will help create an inclusive educational environment, ensuring equal access and participation for all.
Qualifications:
- Washington Sign Language Interpreter certification required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
- Ability to adapt communication styles for different age groups (K-12)
- Strong professionalism and reliability
- Comfortable with virtual interview processes
- Willingness to comply with school-specific onboarding and background check requirements
