This contract opportunity is located in a school environment near Redding, CA, where your expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) will play a vital role in supporting students access to curriculum and social interaction.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is preferred
• Able to interpret in both one-on-one and group settings
• Familiarity with educational terminology and classroom routines
• Current certification from a recognized interpreting body is a plus
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate ASL interpretation for students, educators, and staff in classrooms and school-related activities
• Support students comprehension and expression during lessons, group work, assemblies, and extra-curricular events
• Collaborate with teachers and educational teams to anticipate language support needs
• Help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality at all times
• Prepare for assignments by becoming familiar with lesson materials as needed
