Step into a dynamic educational setting as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter supporting students and facilitating inclusive communication. This full-time, contract position runs 37.5 hours per week, beginning with the 26/27 academic year and continuing through the end of the school term. Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III certification
• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher, plus a passing grade on the written test
• Alternate qualifications deemed equivalent by the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH)
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
• Previous experience in educational interpretation or with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
• Adaptability and a positive attitude in supporting a diverse learning community

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation in various classroom and school settings
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and school personnel
• Support student participation in both academic and extracurricular activities
• Assist in developing communication strategies tailored to individual student needs
• Maintain records as required and participate in relevant meetings or workshops
• Uphold confidentiality and foster an inclusive, supportive environment
