Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to foster communication and educational access for learners who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, working closely with both students and educational staff. Desired Qualifications:

• Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III
• Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher and successful completion of the EIPA written test
• Alternative qualifications recognized by the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational interpreting standards
• Experience working in educational settings is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate interpreting services between American Sign Language and English in classroom environments, school activities, and meetings
• Support direct communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff to promote inclusive learning
• Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism in all interactions
• Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities as appropriate
• Adapt interpreting styles to meet student needs and foster a positive, accessible learning environment
