Work on-site, supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students across elementary and intermediate levels. As a vital resource in the classroom, you will facilitate seamless communication between students, their peers, and educational staff, helping to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, or a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment.
  • EIPA scores under 4.0 are welcome (ASL Para designation).
  • Candidates fluent in ASL with an AA degree considered.
  • Previous experience in educational settings preferred.
  • Passion for collaborating with young learners and educators.
  • Ability to deliver clear voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpreting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction and school activities to bridge communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, their hearing peers, and school staff.
  • Support students in developing academic and life skills such as reading, writing, math, and vocational abilities.
  • Monitor and assist students during classroom, outdoor, and community activities.
  • Foster a supportive, respectful atmosphere for learning and personal growth.
  • Adapt communication techniques according to student needs and educational subjects.
