Job Description

Work closely onsite with a dedicated team, interpreting for two elementary students and playing a key role in their academic and social experiences. Your expertise will make a difference daily, fostering an inclusive and positive environment within the classroom.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license for Kansas
  • EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score meeting state standards
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a solid understanding of educational interpreting
  • Previous experience working with elementary students is preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear and accurate sign language interpretation between students, staff, and peers
  • Facilitate effective communication in both classroom instruction and school activities
  • Adapt interpreting style to meet individual student needs and educational settings
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure the best support for each students success
