Qualifications/Experience:
- Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf OR
- EIPA score of 4.0+ (or equivalent ESSE-I/R, NAD/ACCI assessment)
- Open to candidates with EIPA under 4.0 (considered as ASL Para)
- ASL fluency and an AA degree welcomed
- Experience in educational settings and comfort working with elementary or intermediate students preferred
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Provide both sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting
- Support students in reading, writing, math, vocational, and daily living skills
- Supervise students during class, outdoor activities, and community outings
- Flexibly work across various grade levels and adapt to different school environments
