Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in school settings or with children/adolescents
- Appropriate interpreting credentials or certification as required by state guidelines
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for students, staff, and faculty during classroom instruction, meetings, and other school-related activities
- Support student participation and engagement by accurately conveying educational content and classroom discussions
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication and adaptive support for students
- Maintain clear and ethical boundaries in all interpreting assignments
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
