Step into a meaningful role supporting accessibility in education as a full-time Sign Language Interpreter for the 20262027 school year. This opportunity involves working onsite alongside dedicated professionals, ensuring deaf and hard-of-hearing students have clear communication access throughout their school day. Your expertise will foster inclusion and empower students to participate fully in instruction and all facets of school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in classrooms, assemblies, meetings, and school events.
  • Ensure effective communication among students, teachers, staff, and peers.
  • Uphold confidentiality and adhere to FERPA and district privacy standards.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, special education teams, and related service providers.
  • Review instructional materials to prepare for interpreting assignments.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and follow ethical guidelines specific to educational interpreting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization from the Colorado Department of Education, or eligibility to obtain.
  • Associates degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a related field.
  • Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination.
  • EIPA Performance Score of 3.5+ or current RID Certification.
  • Ability to satisfy all Colorado Department of Education and district employment requirements, including background screening.
  • Strong skills in ASL, receptive and expressive interpretation, and professional communication.
