Qualifications:

  • CA SLI certification required
  • Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings, especially with middle school students, preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills in fast-paced classroom environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for a middle school student throughout the school day
  • Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers in the classroom and during school-related activities
  • Support the students comprehension and participation in lessons, discussions, and social interactions
  • Collaborate with educational staff to ensure accessible learning materials and experiences
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records as required
