Located in North Wilkesboro, NC, this contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized support as a Sign Language Interpreter for a K-12 school setting. The role involves working full-time, averaging 37.5 hours per week over five days, to assist one student on your caseload.
Candidates must hold an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.0 or higher, ensuring a high standard of interpreting services aligned with educational needs. Experience and skills in sign language interpretation within school environments are essential to effectively facilitate communication and support student learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and related activities.
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers to promote full participation in educational experiences.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to modify communication strategies as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and district policies.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid EIPA score of 3.0 or above.
- Proficiency in sign language interpreting techniques suitable for K-12 education.
