Providing essential communication access for students with hearing impairments, this Sign Language Interpreter role supports educational success in a school setting in North Wilkesboro, NC. This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule with 37.5 hours over 5 days weekly, working closely with one student to facilitate effective communication and inclusion within the classroom.
Key responsibilities include interpreting sign language during instructional activities, collaborating with teachers and support staff, and ensuring clear and accurate communication between the student and their educational environment.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Must hold an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting techniques suitable for educational settings
- Ability to work effectively with students and educational teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
