Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing support as a Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant school community. This full-time, on-site contract opportunity allows you to work at one dedicated school locationwith roles open for elementary, middle, and high school level interpreters. You'll partner closely with DHH students, supporting both one-on-one and group communication needs as they access their education.

Ideal candidates bring professionalism, flexibility, and a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments. Youll collaborate with educators, students, and families to facilitate seamless communication, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials with a 3.0 EIPA score or higher
  • Experience supporting Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in educational settings
  • Ability to interpret in both 1:1 and group scenarios
  • Completion of required fingerprinting (prior prints through Florida school districts/AHCA Clearinghouse may be transferable)
  • Quick adaptability to secure a JLA badge (processing may take up to 10 business days)
  • Professional flexibility to work with elementary, middle, or high school students as assigned

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective interpretation services during classroom instruction and school activities
  • Facilitate communication between DHH students and teachers, peers, and staff
  • Support individualized and small group instruction as needed
  • Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality
  • Collaborate with school personnel to best serve students academic and social needs
