Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter, supporting students in a vibrant educational setting near North Bennington, VT. You'll provide essential communication access for one kindergarten and one third-grade student, contributing to a more inclusive learning environment. This engaging position is full-time, running from 8:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, with a schedule extending through mid-June.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience providing sign language interpretationschool settings preferred
- Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Open to certified and non-certified candidates
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate reliability
- Comfortable collaborating with educators and student support staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, clear interpretation between students, staff, and peers during classroom instruction and activities
- Foster student engagement, promoting equitable access to curriculum and class participation
- Provide feedback to educators regarding communication needs and progress
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all student interactions
- Participate in any applicable training and collaborate during onboarding
