Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to a vibrant educational setting supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade. In this full-time, contract role, youll work across multiple schools, ensuring students with hearing impairments are fully included in classroom experiences near beautiful coastal communities.
Your fluency in American Sign Language is essential to facilitate clear, accurate communication between students, educators, and peers. As a dependable collaborator, youll play a key part in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in sign language interpretation, with experience in educational settings strongly preferred
- Hold a valid California SLP license or CA CTC credential
- Adaptable to varied grade levels and student needs (K12)
- Committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
Core Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken communication in classrooms, assemblies, meetings, and school events
- Support individual and group educational activities, adapting interpreting style as needed for age and content
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to identify and meet student needs
- Maintain accurate and timely records as required for student support
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school community
The contract position offers approximately 37.5 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through the 2026-27 school year.
