A professional opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students in a school setting. This role involves travel to various educational facilities located in Newark, NJ, providing essential communication assistance for deaf and hard-of-hearing students to ensure equitable access to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL).
- Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and other school activities.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote an inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all communications.
- Travel between assigned schools within the Newark area as required by scheduling needs.
