Job Description

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available from August 4, 2026, to May 28, 2027, supporting one elementary student in a school setting in New London, North Carolina. This contract role requires expertise in sign language interpretation to facilitate clear communication for students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services for an elementary student throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication access.
  • Utilize ECATS system for documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with state regulations and school policies related to interpreting services.

Qualifications:

  • Active North Carolina Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license.
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
  • Proven experience with the ECATS system.
  • Previous experience working in educational settings preferred, especially with elementary-aged students.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism.

Location:
The role is based at a middle school located in New London, NC.

Benefits and Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position with 37.5 hours per week.
  • Contract assignment running through the academic year.
