Job Description

Sign Language Interpreter opportunity available for the 2025-2026 school year, supporting K12 students in the Franklin area near Nashville, TN. This full-time contract position serves general education students across two middle schools and one high school within the Williamson County Schools district. The assignment runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, with a standard 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and accurate sign language interpreting services during all educational activities to facilitate communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.
  • Support students in mainstream general education classrooms to ensure full access to curriculum and school communication.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote effective communication strategies and educational success.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all ethical standards related to interpreting in an educational setting.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Required EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher.
  • Prior experience working as a sign language interpreter in school environments preferred.
  • Ability to work across middle and high school settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills tailored to the educational needs of K-12 students.
  • Flexibility and commitment to a full-time onsite schedule.

  • Franklin area near Nashville, Tennessee.
  • Onsite presence required.
