This full-time contract opportunity focuses on providing dedicated, 1:1 interpretation services, helping to bridge communication and foster inclusion for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Working closely with educators and support staff, youll play a vital part in each childs academic and social growth.

What were looking for:

• Current, active Sign Language Interpreter Certification
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, especially elementary level, desired
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
• A collaborative mindset and a compassionate approach
• Ability to adapt to student needs and classroom situations
• Professionalism and discretion maintaining confidentiality

What youll do:

• Provide 1:1 interpretation for an elementary student, ensuring access to curriculum and participation in daily activities
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support student goals
• Translate spoken language into ASL and vice versa during instruction, social times, and school activities
• Use discretion and cultural awareness to facilitate interactions
• Contribute to a positive, supportive environment for student learning and development
• Complete necessary documentation and participate in relevant meetings as needed
