The ideal candidate is passionate about facilitating communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and thrives in collaborative, dynamic environments.

Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License
  • Minimum 3.5 EIPA score
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a K-12 educational setting is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

What Youll Do:

  • Provide on-site sign language interpretation for students, staff, and families in classroom and school settings
  • Accurately interpret educational content, classroom discussions, and school events for K-12 students
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and special education teams to support student inclusion and learning
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all communication and documentation
  • Adapt interpretation approach to suit individual student needs and grade levels
