Job Description

Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to a dynamic educational setting and help support students' communication needs in the classroom. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 3rd, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, with the possibility of additional pre- and post-planning days. You'll be based onsite, collaborating with staff to ensure each student's experience is tailored and empowering.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active Georgia Educator Certificate for Sign Language Interpreters
  • Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in a school setting is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills for working with staff, students, and families
  • Comfortable documenting services by completing daily logs

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Adjust interpreting style and delivery according to student age group and individual needs
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to foster inclusive learning environments
  • Maintain meticulous daily service logs as part of student records
  • Engage in interview discussions to match your expertise and preferences with district needs
  • Flexibility in caseload assignments, determined through collaboration with district staff

This contract position provides the flexibility to focus fully onsitewith part-time arrangements potentially available depending on candidate interest and district needs.
