A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to support students in an educational environment. This role involves travel to schools within the Middletown, Delaware area, providing essential communication assistance to deaf and hard-of-hearing students to ensure equal access to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff using American Sign Language (ASL)
- Translate spoken English into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction and school activities
- Collaborate with educators and support personnel to create an inclusive learning environment
- Assist in one-on-one sessions as well as group settings
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language with certification preferred
