What you'll bring:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings strongly preferred
• Valid national certification (RID, EIPA, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with IEPs and educational terminology
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, and families
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards

Key responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities from spoken English to ASL and vice versa
• Support students during lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular events
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to optimize communication access for students
• Assist in adapting materials and resources as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional input on student communication needs
• Maintain accurate records and follow ethical guidelines in interpreting services
