An Educational Sign Language Interpreter position is available near Decatur, AL, offering full-time, school-year employment in a supportive school setting. This role requires providing dedicated 1:1 sign language interpretation services to a single student, ensuring effective communication and access to the educational curriculum.
Key qualifications include:
- Alabama Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Certification
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or above preferred
- Experience in educational interpreting environments
Responsibilities involve facilitating clear communication between the student and educational staff, interpreting classroom instruction, and fostering an inclusive learning environment. The interpreter will work closely with educators to support the students academic progress and participation.
