Job Description

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed for a K-12 school environment in Madison, AL. This is a contract position for the current school year (CSY). The role requires providing interpreting services onsite to support students with hearing impairments and facilitate effective communication within the classroom and school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sign language interpretation for K-12 students during instructional and school activities
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure students have equitable access to curriculum
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Participate in professional development and mentoring opportunities to enhance skills and effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Valid Alabama Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License required
  • Experience with K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with school staff and students
