Job Description

Make a daily impact by providing sign language interpretation in an educational setting for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity is perfect for skilled Sign Language Interpreters passionate about supporting K-12 students with ASL needs. Step into a meaningful role at a single school site, dedicated to assisting one student throughout the academic day.

In this position, youll work full time, onsite, for 37.5 hours per week during the 2026/2027 school year (August 19th through June 4th). Collaborate with educators and students to facilitate communication and ensure an inclusive learning environment for your assigned student.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter Certificate for Washington
  • Minimum 4.0 EIPA score
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with the ability to interpret between spoken English and ASL
  • Experience working in a K-12 educational environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to build rapport with students and staff while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and effective sign language interpretation for a student in a classroom setting
  • Foster open communication between the student, peers, and teachers
  • Advocate for the students access to instructional content and extracurricular activities
  • Adhere to ethical and professional guidelines specific to educational interpreting
  • Collaborate with the educational team to monitor and support student progress
