Job Description

A position is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students and staff within a school setting located in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves travel to various school locations within the area, providing essential communication access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities.
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support student learning and inclusion.
  • Travel as required to multiple school sites within Los Angeles.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and strong interpreting skills.
  • Previous experience working in educational environments preferred.
