A professional opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary students in an onsite school setting in Lincoln, NE. This contract position runs through the current school year, ending May 22, 2026. The role offers a standard school-day schedule with some flexibility for afternoon-only shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation to support students' access to the educational curriculum
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff within an elementary school environment
- Attend and assist with classroom activities, ensuring equal participation opportunities
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to relevant policies and ethical standards in educational settings
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) certification is mandatory
- Proven experience interpreting in K-12 school settings, preferably with elementary-aged children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills tailored to young learners
- Ability to work onsite during school hours, with availability for either full-day or afternoon-only shifts

Schedule:
- Typical school hours: 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM
