A full-time opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) to provide direct services to K-12 students in a school setting located in Lewiston, ME. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and requires onsite work within the educational environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct sign language interpretation services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
• Facilitate effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and educational staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and support personnel to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and comply with school policies and state regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid Maine Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License is required.
• Proven experience interpreting in K-12 educational settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of ASL and deaf culture.
• Ability to work full-time onsite within the school environment.
