Working on-site, youll provide essential interpretation services, collaborating closely with staff, students, and parents to ensure all communication is clear and accessible.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Educator Certification required
- Successful completion of the EIPA written test with a minimum score of 75%
- Either a 4.0 or higher on the EIPA performance assessment or hold an active National Interpreter Certification (NIC) from RID
- Previous experience in educational or school settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to ethical interpreting standards and professional conduct
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Providing accurate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for students and staff during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and other school events
- Adapting interpretation style to fit the unique needs and ages of students
- Collaborating with faculty, administration, and special education teams to support student learning goals
- Maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional boundaries at all times
- Assisting in fostering an inclusive, accessible, and positive school culture
- Staying current with industry best practices and continuing education requirements
