In this pivotal position, youll facilitate communication and access to learning for a high school sophomore predominantly in general education classes, ensuring every lesson and activity is accessible and meaningful.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification for Kansas (KS)
• Experience working in educational environments, ideally with high school students
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to adapt communication style to student needs
• Effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and students
• Professionalism, reliability, and sensitivity in diverse classroom settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct interpretation services for a high school sophomore attending general education courses
• Foster access to academic content, classroom discussions, and school activities through consistent, high-quality interpretation
• Collaborate with educators to prepare for lessons and clarify content as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards specific to educational interpreting
• Support student participation in extracurricular or school events as required
