Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support within school settings. This travel position is based in Lawrenceville, GA, offering the opportunity to work across multiple educational environments to facilitate effective communication for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
- Ensure accurate and clear communication for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other school personnel to support inclusive learning
- Adapt interpreting strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality at all times
Desired Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification preferred
- Prior experience interpreting in educational settings is highly valued
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and communication needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel between multiple school locations within the assigned area
