Job Description

This position seeks a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide critical communication support within a K-12 school setting in West Palm Beach, FL. The role demands precision, dedication, and expertise in facilitating effective communication between hearing-impaired students and educators to foster inclusive learning environments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Sign Language Interpreter credential
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a minimum score of 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
  • Prior experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of K-12 educational protocols and student needs

Position Details:

  • Location: West Palm Beach, FL
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week
  • Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)
  • Age Group: K-12 students

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students with hearing impairments and their teachers, peers, and school staff
  • Support classroom instruction by interpreting lectures, discussions, and other audio information
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to tailor communication strategies based on student needs
  • Attend any required meetings or training sessions related to student communication accommodations
