What Were Looking For:

• Intervener Certification required
• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational environment
• Strong skills in American Sign Language and a deep understanding of Deaf culture
• Ability to interpret for a range of ages and learning levels, with a focus on elementary school students
• Collaborative approach when working with educational teams, students, and families
• Responsible, adaptable, and ready to support multiple students as needs arise

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct ASL interpretation for students during classroom instruction and school activities
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to support academic and social participation
• Assist with adapting instructional materials for optimum accessibility
• Support the inclusion of deaf or hard of hearing students in all aspects of the school day
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards in all interactions
• Document student progress and communicate relevant information to team members
