Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold an active Intervener Certification (required)
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) fluency
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or school settings
- Ability to facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers
- Comfort working with elementary-aged children in classroom routines and activities
- Professionalism, flexibility, and effective interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities to ensure accessibility for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Support multiple students as assigned, adapting interpretation for individual needs
- Collaborate with educators and support staff for student success
- Maintain confidentiality in all student matters
