Make a meaningful impact by supporting students through expert communicationthis contract opportunity focuses on providing skilled sign language interpreting services in an educational setting with young learners. Work closely with students in grades Pre-K through Middle School, including Kindergarten and elementary levels, ensuring they have equitable access and engagement in both individual and group learning environments. You will collaborate with teachers and staff, helping bridge the communication gap for pediatric students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Ideal candidates bring passion, patience, and a strong foundation in American Sign Language, alongside experience working within a school-based pediatric environment.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); credentialed as a sign language interpreter
• Comfortable working 1:1 with students across Pre-K, Kindergarten, elementary, and middle school levels
• Experience interpreting in pediatric or academic settings highly valued
• Ability to adapt to diverse educational needs and grade levels
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Professionalism, reliability, and a supportive approach with children

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for students during classroom instruction and school activities
• Facilitate communication between students, educators, and peers, ensuring full participation
• Assist in creating inclusive learning environments
• Support students language development and educational goals
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information
• Participate in meetings with school staff as needed
