Qualifications and Experience:

• EIPA assessment taken in Alaska with qualifying score (AK EIPA Score required)
• Appropriate sign language interpreting credentials or certifications
• Experience providing sign language interpretation in educational settings, ideally K-12
• Strong receptive and expressive ASL skills
• Ability to adapt interpretation style to different age groups and classroom environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpretation for students, teachers, and staff during lessons, activities, meetings, and events
• Adjust interpretation techniques based on student needs and age level
• Support classroom participation and access to curriculum
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to facilitate communication and best practices
