Key Qualifications:
- Valid Alaska Educator Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score
- Required SLI credentials or certifications, meeting state guidelines
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting within school settings
- Experience collaborating with educational professionals and supporting student communication needs
- Adaptability to work across a range of ages, from kindergarten through high school
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear and effective ASL interpretation for students, teachers, and staff during classroom instruction, activities, meetings, and events
- Support students understanding and participation by interpreting curriculum-based conversations and directions
- Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and case managers to ensure effective inclusion and individualized support
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with school and district guidelines
- Document interpreting services as required by educational policies and procedures
