Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting or relevant credentials
- Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of IEPs and educational accommodations
- Ability to interpret confidently in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings
- Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative spirit
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into ASL (and vice versa) for students, teachers, and staff
- Support students during classroom instruction, activities, meetings, and events
- Ensure accurate, clear communication in both educational and social settings
- Collaborate with the educational team to adapt materials and support student learning
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
- Provide feedback and documentation regarding student progress and engagement
