This full-time position focuses on partnering with a sophomore student throughout the school day, primarily in general education classes, ensuring access to instruction and enriching their educational experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Possession of a current Kansas Sign Language Interpreter license
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Comfortable interpreting at the high school level, particularly with students in general education settings
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, and students
• Dedication to maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpretation for a high school sophomore, enabling full participation in classroom and school activities
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers in a variety of academic settings
• Support inclusion and engagement in the general education environment
• Prepare for classroom content, adapting interpreting techniques as needed to meet student needs
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to all policies and procedures as established by the educational setting

Details to Know:

• Full-time, 35 hours per week
• Contract runs from ASAP through May 29
• Assigned to one student in a high school setting
