A contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter to support educational needs in the Lake Charles, LA area. This role involves interpreting in a school setting to facilitate communication for students who use sign language, ensuring equal access to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction from 7:35 AM to 9:35 AM.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff to support effective learning.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Collaborate with educational and support staff to enhance student engagement.

Qualifications:

• Must have an EIPA score of 4.0 or higher.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills.
• Experience working in educational environments preferred.
• Ability to adapt interpretation techniques to meet student needs.
