A rewarding opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in educational settings, focused on supporting a moderately cognitively impaired elementary-age child who is beginning to learn sign language. This role involves travel and is based onsite in Jackson, MI, providing full-time hours each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication between the student, educators, and peers using American Sign Language.
  • Adapt interpretation methods to meet the unique needs of a developing signer with cognitive challenges.
  • Collaborate with educational and support staff to enhance learning outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license.
