Job Description

If you're passionate about supporting students with hearing impairments and are fluent in American Sign Language, this contract opportunity offers a meaningful way to make an impact throughout the school year. Full-time professionals are needed to provide sign language interpretation services onsite, with the potential to transition to a virtual model as the year progresses. Youll help facilitate communication between students, educators, and staff, ensuring access to instruction and school activities for all learners.

What were looking for:

  • Proficient in American Sign Language
  • Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Minimum 3.5 score on the EIPA, with the written portion completed
  • Experience in educational settings is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with teachers and school staff

What youll do:

  • Deliver interpretation services in classrooms, assemblies, and school events
  • Support students academic and social participation by providing clear and accurate communication
  • Work closely with educators to adapt instruction and make curriculum accessible
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards according to school policies and interpreter guidelines
  • Assist with progress monitoring and feedback as requested by the educational team
  • Participate in meetings or IEP sessions involving students who are deaf or hard of hearing
