A school district in Statesville, NC is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary students at Troutman Elementary. This contract position runs ASAP through May 27, 2026 and is onsite only. The role requires full-time availability, working 35 hours per week Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including a 30-minute paid lunch break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services for elementary-level students
- Arrive before student arrival to prepare for the days interpreting needs
- Collaborate with educators and staff to facilitate effective communication
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Qualifications:
- Licensed Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) credential required
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher preferred
- RID certification is also acceptable in place of EIPA
- Experience working with elementary school students preferred
- Ability to work onsite in Statesville, NC with no travel or remote work options
