Job Description

A school district in Statesville, NC is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary students at Troutman Elementary. This contract position runs ASAP through May 27, 2026 and is onsite only. The role requires full-time availability, working 35 hours per week Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including a 30-minute paid lunch break.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services for elementary-level students
  • Arrive before student arrival to prepare for the days interpreting needs
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to facilitate effective communication
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) credential required
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher preferred
  • RID certification is also acceptable in place of EIPA
  • Experience working with elementary school students preferred
  • Ability to work onsite in Statesville, NC with no travel or remote work options
