Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Previous experience supporting students in school environments
• Ability to adapt communication styles to meet individual needs
• Current proof of licensure/certification as required for interpreting in Texas

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ASL interpretation for a 9th-grade student in a behavioral classroom, covering instructional periods only (approximately 6.5 hours per day, Monday-Thursday)
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate clear communication and student engagement
• Adapt to evolving needs and technology, including working with cochlear implants, hearing aids, and ALD devices
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
