A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support educational settings, providing vital communication access for students with hearing impairments. This travel position requires working within various school environments, ensuring effective interpretation during classroom instruction, school events, and meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators
- Facilitate communication during instructional activities, parent-teacher conferences, and other school functions
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and support staff to promote an inclusive learning environment
- Adapt interpretation style to different educational settings and student needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in educational environments highly preferred
- Knowledge of interpreting protocols and ethical standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed to various school locations in the Horace, ND area
