Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter license from the State of North Carolina
• Prior experience providing interpreting services in a school or educational setting
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to effectively interpret classroom discussions, instructions, and various school-related interactions
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver real-time ASL interpretation for a single student caseload (1.1) throughout the academic day
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers to support inclusive education
• Collaborate with the educational team to adapt classroom materials and assignments as needed for accessibility
• Accurately interpret instructions, discussions, assessments, and school activities
• Maintain records of interpreting sessions and comply with all school policies and confidentiality protocols
• Proactively contribute to a positive, accessible learning atmosphere
