This contract role runs from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, across multiple vibrant school environments in the beautiful region near Hilton Head Island, SC, and surrounding communities. Your expertise will play a vital role in facilitating communication and creating an inclusive learning atmosphere for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language interpretation for children and adolescents in educational settings
• Experience interpreting in K-12 environments preferred
• Ability to collaborate with educators, students, and support staff
• Flexibility to adapt interpreting style to various age groups and classroom needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services for classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and extracurricular events
• Accurately translate spoken language to sign language and vice versa to support students comprehension and participation
• Assist in fostering a positive, accessible educational experience for students who use sign language
• Uphold strict standards of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to support educational goals
