A contract opportunity is available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support K-12 students in a full-time role based in Hendersonville, TN. This position is ideal for interpreters with experience in educational settings who are committed to enhancing communication access for students in General Education classrooms.

Location:

• Hendersonville, Tennessee
• Middle and High School sites throughout the area

Duration:

• Contract position beginning ASAP through May 22, 2026
• School calendar year contract

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in middle and high school settings
• Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers in educational environments
• Support inclusion in General Education classes through clear and accurate sign language interpretation
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure compliance with student IEPs and communication needs

Qualifications:

• Certified Sign Language Interpreter with an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
• 0-10+ years of experience in school settings, with pay commensurate with experience level
• Proficient in sign language interpreting strategies for a K-12 general education population
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within interdisciplinary teams
• Reliable availability for full-time hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
